I’m a true believer in keeping kitchen equipment minimal and the products below are either what I use personally every week or what I know a LOT of cooks find useful.
When reading this list, keep in mind the items you actually need for your kitchen. Just because something is on sale doesn’t mean buying it saves money… if you initially didn’t even need it!
Even if you’re not a Prime member, this product list could give you some inspiration for what tools to pick up next.
Let’s get to it!

Small Kitchen Appliances For A Steal
The Instant Pot Duo! – $69.95 (I have one of these and it’s been helpful so far)
Air Fryer – $85.49 – These are great for reheating meal preps and making the crispiest tofu
6 QT Dutch Oven – $35 – Not ready to invest in a pricey Le Creuset or Staub dutch oven? This dutch oven is a great pick for someone who just wants to try it out, and it’s beautiful.
FoodSaver (Vacuum Sealer) – $99 Do you like to freeze a lot of proteins and ingredients, but hate freezer burn? The FoodSaver is essential for vacuum-sealing foods for maximum shelf life in your freezer.
Vitamix Blender – $285 (usually $428) – I know it’s an expensive blender, but this is similar to the one I have and it changed my life. It makes smoothie-making 10x easier, it’s easy to clean and it works so fast. Of course, you can also blend sauces, soups and even make peanut butter in this thing.
Immersion Blender – $33 – Planning on making a lot of soups this year? This is an extremely handy tool, and it doesn’t take up a lot of space.

Meal Prep Containers
3 Compartment Glass Containers, Set of 8 – $46 – From one of my favorite container brands on Amazon. Note that these don’t nest into each other.
5 Standard Glass Meal Prep Containers – $33 – This would be one of the most useful sets, they all nest into each other so you don’t have to worry about them taking up too much space.
Salad Meal Prep Container – $12 – perfect for anyone who loves to pack a not-soggy salad
Refrigerator/ Freezer Bins – $19 – Not a meal prep container, but they help contain the mess in your refrigerator and freezer!
20 Piece Food Storage Container Set -$50- Again, not a meal prep container, but these help organize your pantry!

Essential Cooking Tools
8″ Chef’s Knife – $85 – (Treat yourself!!) This is my second favorite chef’s knife after Nakano’s chef knives!
Cooking Utensils Set – $22 – Want to upgrade all your utensils at once? This is the way to go.
Silicone Baking Mats – $10 – Hate cleaning sheet pans? These dishwasher-friendly mats make cooking and baking with sheet pans a lot easier and they’re a good no-waste alternative to foil.
Meat thermometer – $10 – never overcook chicken, steak or fish again! I use a meat thermometer every time I cook meat now just to take the guesswork out of it. It has never failed me! If you’d like a little fancier meat thermometer, the Meater Bluetooth thermometer is my go-to.
My Favorites
1 Gallon Cold Brew Maker – $28 – This is almost exactly like the one I have! Great for starting to make cold brew (and saving tons of money) at home – if you have the fridge space.
Stasher Bags – 4 Piece Set – $38 – these last years if you take care of them and can really help cut down plastic use! They last a long time too. I’ve had mine for years. Worth the investment!
Laptop Stand – $18 – This isn’t the exact one I have, but I’ve had my stand for years! I use it while cooking to watch TV or read recipes.
Anti-Fatigue Mat – $30 – How did I not get one of these sooner? I’ve been loving this for my new kitchen.
Tip: every time you buy something new for your kitchen, find a few items to donate to your local thrift store, Facebook Marketplace, your local Buy Nothing group, or donation center. This will help you keep your kitchen/kitchen cabinets clutter-free!
For any other time of year, here is our go-to staples for kitchen tools.
Stay awesome and happy shopping!
