That’s where this Zesty Gluten-Free Chex Mix comes in.
It’s easy to prep, loaded with bold flavor, and perfect for tossing into your bag or keeping in the pantry for those moments when hunger hits. Bonus: it’s naturally gluten-free, and you only need a handful of ingredients and about 30 minutes to make it happen.
What You’ll Need:
- 2 cups gluten-free Chex cereal
- 1 ½ cups gluten-free pretzels
- ½ cup raw almonds
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp powdered buttermilk (this adds a tangy, ranch-like flavor—trust us!)
- ½ tsp dried chives
- ¼ tsp dried dill
- ¼ tsp salt
- ⅛ tsp garlic powder
How to Make It:
- Preheat your oven to 250ºF and line a 9×13 baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine the Chex cereal, pretzels, and almonds.
- In a separate small bowl, stir together the melted butter, powdered buttermilk, salt, dill, chives, and garlic powder.
- Pour the seasoned butter mixture over the cereal mix. Use a rubber spatula to gently toss everything until it’s well coated.
- Spread the mixture evenly onto your prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, stirring halfway through to ensure even toasting.
- Let the Chex mix cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes.
- Once cool, divide it into four snack containers—or keep it in an airtight jar for easy, grab-and-go snacking throughout the week.

WWL Pro Tip:
This is a flexible recipe! Feel free to swap in your favorite nuts, gluten-free bagel chips, or even add a pinch of cayenne for a spicy version. Want to make it dairy-free? Use a dairy-free butter and skip the buttermilk powder—or try a sprinkle of nutritional yeast for a tangy kick.
Why You’ll Love This Snack:
- Super portable and meal prep friendly
- Gluten-free and easy to customize
- Keeps well all week (if you don’t eat it all first 😉)
- Way more affordable and satisfying than store-bought snack bags
Storage Tips:
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. For longer storage, refrigerate or freeze (but let it come to room temp before enjoying for maximum crunch).
